Our TAIL approach (Train,
Amplify, Innovate and Localise)
supports cross-sector learning
and collaboration.

Overview

Drawing on two decades of field-based experience, we work hand in hand with communities and institutions through projects that enable immediate action, timely decisions, and ethical local partnerships.

We build transformative partnerships that go beyond transactions, creating opportunities to “shift the power” with collaborative terms of engagement, regular reflection, and joint strategies that strengthen local leadership.

People

In-House Ops Teams

We run country-focused operations teams that manage projects end-to-end, ensuring contextual knowledge and operational efficiency.

Field-Based Enumerator Network

These teams are supported by our field-based enumerator network – trusted local researchers who provide access, continuity, and credibility in communities where international actors often struggle to reach; ensuring research is informed by local perspectives.

Samuel Hall Fellows Network

Through the Samuel Hall Fellows Network, we continue to expand our reach and learning, engaging a vibrant pool of academics, practitioners, and alumni who bring new perspectives, methods, and energy to our work.

Processes

Comprehensive planning

Tailored operational processes for each country’s context.

Safeguarding & ethics

Ensuring the highest ethical standards and participant protection across all projects.

Quality control

Continuous supervision, spot-checks, and real-time monitoring for robust data.

Accountability

Accountability begins with ownership: doing what we commit to and being transparent about progress. We ensure that evidence, recommendations, and actions are rigorous, ethical, and grounded in the realities of those most affected. From the field, we engage communities and create channels to raise concerns, report malpractice, or whistleblow, reinforcing transparency and trust.

If you wish to share a concern, contact us at whistleblowing@samuelhall.org
