Rosa Ojwang

Research Intern

Rosa Ojwang joined Samuel Hall as a Research Intern within Pillar 1: Migration and Displacement. As an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, Rosa boasts a robust legal background. Her career as a public interest lawyer is marked by a notable project case addressing the constitutionality of guardianship and legal capacity laws for persons with disabilities in Kenya, during her fellowship in the East African Emerging Public Interest Advocates Programme, by the Centre for Strategic Litigation.

With prior roles at Katiba Institute, various law firms, and the Commission on Administrative Justice, Rosa brings a wealth of experience to her role. Currently pursuing her L.L.M in Regional Integration and East African Community Law at the Tanzanian German Centre for Eastern Africa Legal Studies, University of Dar es Salaam, Rosa is dedicated to promoting regional integration in Africa and advocating for the rights of marginalized communities within regional frameworks in the African Union. Her expertise spans strategic litigation, project management, advocacy, and raising awareness for the promotion of rights of marginalised communities, including persons with disabilities, LGBTQI+, and refugees.

Furthermore, Rosa has a commendable record of offering pro-bono legal services to survivors of gender-based violence, the LGBTQI+ community, and refugees, collaborating with organizations such as HIAS. Rosa has an unwavering commitment to advancing the rule of law and human rights protection, which guides her role in Samuel Hall's work.
