Marta joined Samuel Hall in November 2020 as a Project Officer for the Data Standards & Analytics Pillar. Prior to joining Samuel Hall she managed humanitarian and development interventions in Africa and the Middle East for ACTED, developed and applied monitoring tools for data collection in South-Sudan for Altai Consulting, and worked as a Research Consultant and Data Analyst for Integrity Watch Afghanistan. She is also co-founder of VoxMapp, a set of tools and methodologies to support accountability and good governance through data collection, community inclusion and evidence-based decision making. Marta graduated from Sciences Po with a Master’s in International Economic Policy and a thesis on “Nationalism and Feminism in Iraqi Kurdistan”. This research project led her to Iraqi Kurdistan, where for three months she collected data and conducted interviews in Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohuk. Marta also holds a MicroMaster in Data, Economics and Development Policy from MIT, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Sciences Po.
