MARION TOLBOOM
Research Assistant

Marion joined Samuel Hall in February 2023 as a Research and Executive Assistant. She holds a Master's degree in African Studies from Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, as well as a Master's degree in Geopolitics of the Middle East from École Normale Supérieure Paris. Her dissertation examines food security in Egypt with regards to economic and public governance, where she conducted fieldwork in upper Egypt for over two months.

Prior to working with Samuel Hall, Marion carried out a traineeship at the OECD as a public policy analyst, where her work mostly focused on the Public Governance Review of Haiti, coordinated with USAID, as well as other public governance projects in Morocco, Brazil and Portugal. She also has experience as a project manager at AI for Good in Paris, an NGO aiming to understand how artificial intelligence and new technologies can help reach the SDGs, as well as a Press and Politics intern at the United Nations in Lebanon. Marion is fluent in French and English, and has a conversational level in MSA, as well as Lebanese and Egyptian dialect. She also holds a BA in Political Science and International Development from McGill University.
