Karen Lau

Research Manager- Consultant

Karen Lau is a social epidemiologist with training in pharmacy (HKU), global health (KCL), and epidemiology (LSHTM). She has conducted a number of mixed methods research in the area of health inequities in multiple countries, in particular studies related to refugees and migrants. Her current research focus is on the global burden of labour exploitation on the health of migrants. Karen has years of experience working in the NGO sector on research and advocacy for health and wellbeing of marginalized populations. She has also worked on health policies in the government, academic, and United Nations sectors across Hong Kong, London, and Cairo. Originally from Hong Kong, she currently splits her time between London and Los Angeles.
