Research Operations Intern

Cadeau joined Samuel Hall in January 2024 as a Research Operations Intern. He holds an undergraduate diploma in Social Work and Community Development, and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Moi University in Nairobi, Kenya.

He has extensive experience working in Community Development, Peace building, Conflict Transformation, Human Trafficking, Migration and Displacement as well as Genocide studies. His knowledge of refugee issues, range from the history of different refugee groups found in Great Lakes Region and East Africa, and the existing policy gaps in the region.

Through his work as a ‘Community Specialist’, he supported NGOs working with refugees at the grassroots level with providing holistic approachs to the community interventions. The following are the organizations he worked with in this context- HIAS Kenya, RCK, Kituo Cha Sheria, GIZ, and Refugee-Led Organizations based in Nairobi.

He was also contracted as consultant for various projects of HAART Kenya and Pamoja Trust in facilitating workshops. Cadeau has over 5 years of experience working on literature reviews, and 3 years experience conducting high-quality research on various topics linked to migration and displacement.

Prior to joining Samuel Hall, he worked as Research Assistant on numerous research papers funded by American universities such Clark University, University of Oxford, American University and Bergen University in Bergen, Norway. In addition, he has experience in conducting field research using qualitative, quantitative, and ethnography (Traditional & Digital) methods. With current research surrounding ‘Localization and Accountability’ of humanitarians in the Congolese diaspora .
